Generally speaking the gameplay is barely not existant. You maybe follow the missions a bit to get basic idea about the game since no tutorial or Infos by Wikis are provided. I felt left alone with a very unknown crafting system. If the recipes shown in the Missions were the only one you can actually make this is very poor. If not, no one seemed to figured out more till now, at least nothing found in Wikis/Google.
After all i spent 2 hours learning the game and coming to a point where i think theres nothing more to it anymore.
Flying and teleporting around gets boring after a short while too.
You have a lot of possibilities to build and do things with the elements but if theres no need to do it i wont do it. Im thinking practical. WhHy build a new house if the house given at star is totally sufficient for all aspects?
I think especially for its price the game is not worth it. Its not bad tho, its just gets boring very fast.

Alles in allem also ein spannender unverbrauchter Ansatz.

I just beat the game last night. I took my time with this one because I really enjoyed how refreshing the primary mechanic of the game was. You collect elements and from there, you build with them. Unlike other crafting/building games, you only need the primary element and combine it with other primaries to get what you want. The other cool thing, is that machines, such as a windmill, is created by first making the shape of the machine, and then turning it into the working object with an alchemy spell. You can even do this with a spell that brings things to life and create golems this way.
I got this from on sale for 4$, however, after playing and finding immense enjoyment I didn't expect to have with a game that looks like this, I definitely would have paid full price. If you're looking for a crafting/building game with interesting mechanics, give this game a shot. It's surprisingly kind of addictive and I really really hope the developer(s) keep working on this game.

AA contains no story, basically you run around killing bad things while crafting golems out of random objects as well as building structures if you like. There are random villages to explore, people who'll fight alongside you for some coin, and cute girls who'll mark points of interest on your map. That's about it. Note the enemy AI will often attack each other which can make for some impressive long-range lightning and fireball fights between skeletons and roving bands of reindeer and jaguar (no, really) amongst other things. The map does contain multiple biomes but creatures clearly native to them roam everywhere which is pretty jarring.
This will run good on a potato PC aside from lag while it loads new areas. Most of the default controls are fine but you might find mounts to be irritating, both horses and wolves slide front to back even when their movement animations have ceased. One high note is the soundtrack, it was entirely made by the developer and is shockingly good although way too loud in one spot.
I paid $5 for Alchemist's Awakening and after 6 hours am left wondering why. I don't feel ripped off per se, just kind of disappointed. This feels more like a proof of concept or a decently-developed student final project rather than a for-sale title. For all the time this spent in the throes of Early Access I expected better.

It's still an honor to have been part of closed alpha! I'm glad you made it all the way to the first public release last year.
I'm glad you're still working on this game and I hope you'll be able to continue.
This game is really a good game and I enjoy playing it from time to time, new stuffs are coming months after months and rediscovering it is really cool!
This game is sure one of my favorites.

I play with my friends and we've yet to discover more of what we can build.
A more lengthly review will follow after more extensive gaming.
Definitly an awesome gift ( from friend)
After some more hours of gameplay my review continues.
I've made a server for 2 of my friends to play on.
Originally one of my friends had run her singleplayer game as co-op ( so we joined her singleplayer world) but there were some annoying bugs associated with it.
- Chest inventory items duplicate or randomly dissapear
- switching from character inventory to toolbar bugs out a lot
- game required me to leave her game and log back in just to be able to use items I had in the toolbar
- sometimes i could not continue mining due to out of sync issues
- cant fight enemies due to same issue as above
To solve these problems I was able to setup a dedicated server succesfully
- I didnt get much feedback from my friends on their game experience except for the occasional requirement to relog because they couldnt build anymore.
other problems werent occuring anymore.
All was well all was good
until today my friends build was destroyed by 2 griefers who jumped onto the server.
I forgot to notice that there was no ability to set a password on the server.
After my friend and I posted about it, the developer responded right away and soon after an update was available allowing a passwod to be set on servers.
OH
MY
GOD
try to do that on any other game and see how long customer feedback is taken serious.
why are you still reading this review ? GO GET THE GAME ALREADY !!!!!!!!!

Pros: The crafting is unique and interesting and the use of the elements can be fun. I enjoy throwing fireballs at my enemies too. For a short diversion, poking around the world after you follow the initial crafting quests is fun.
Cons: There seems to be little to no progression early in, the enemies are all identical and never get any harder. There seems to be no direction or purpose other than learning what mixes with what to create something else.
Constructs can be created, however, they are so glitchy that they never last long.
It's far too easy to be able to to get huge amounts of elements such as wind, and it is all just wasted because you can't use enough of it.
TDLR: It's fun for a short time, and nice to revisit occasionally but doesn't satisfy long-term. Still recommending it though, because the crafting is really unique, and with a little 'fleshing out' this could be a phenomenal game.

Alchemist's Awakening, currently in Early Access, is a sandbox game that doesn't know exactly what it wants to be. If you buy the game today, you get a crafting tool with a complete and functioning engine. The store page clarifies pretty well what the game is offering at this point, so make sure you understand what you are about to buy.
It is neither a survival nor a story game - at least not yet.
I'm going to tell you a bit about the different modes to give you a better idea about Alchemist's Awakening:
Single-Player: You're most likely going to start playing alone and offline. There is no story mode yet but the developers promise to implement it prior to the official launch. So by generating your first world, you get a couple of quests to make you become familiar with the crafting system and building objects to gather resources. It is supposed to work as a little tutorial and introduction but lacks of clear explanations - hopefully that will change in the future. Other than doing the quests, there is no real goal to follow. However, by exploring the procedurally generated world/s, you will often come across new resources to craft new items. The 4 main elements wind, fire, ice and electricity are the most important ones and especially ice is not easy to gather in the beginning but I don't want to spoil too much.
Enemies make your life a little harder - and with little I literally mean little. Basically something such as AI is non-existent and as far as I know you don't even get loot after killing one of them. I'm not sure if the focus is on simply testing your weapons and playing with them (since you can craft awesome unique attacks such as electric balls) or if there will be more about them during the development progress.
If it bores you to explore and collect rare items and you just want to start crafting what's on your mind, try the Creative or Build A Skin Mode. These modes give you an infinite amount of all blocks, there's no limits. Very notable is the Steam Workshop support that let's you easily share your buildings and skins with the community right from the game.
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=658150941
Multiplayer: There's three different ways to play with your friends: Either you join a public server with them, create your own server or invite them to your single-player session. To protect your house (or whatever you choose to build and protect), the game gives you a totem to place on a 16x16 grid. Other than the totem feature, playing on a server is very similar to Solo Mode just that it's a lot more fun to visit creations of others, chat with them, kill them.. The newest upgrade comes with the option to invite friends to your own offline world which is amazing since you're not restricted to 16x16 and can build whatever you want without being afraid someone is going to loot and break down your houses.
Don't get me wrong, the game is great if you like sandbox games. The price of 15.99€ is a bit too high for what it is right now in my opinion. But it will raise along the way, so either pick it up now and enjoy the constant new updates or wait until it's released and on sale. I ended up spending much more time on this game than I thought in the beginning and enjoyed it a lot.
★☆━━━━━━━━━[RATING: 6/10]━━━━━━━━━☆★
Positive
- Graphics: The look of it is pleasing ones eyes. Flying around and looking at the landscape is relaxing and fun. At times it's a little too blurry but overall satisfying. The day/night cycle works and looks good, too.
- Open World: New worlds are free to explore and will always be unique. Go wherever you want, fly to other islands, build bridges to connect them, explore new types of enemies, hidden treasures, rare items... Do what you want and don't be restricted to stay in certain areas!
- Sandbox Experience: Creative minds will love this game. Endless opportunities to craft and build objects as well as living objects. Giving life to your own shapes is a nice feature on top of it all.
- Dev Activity: The developers listen to the community, fix bugs very quickly and are there for help. In and out of the game. I have a good feeling about the game and its development as the devs seem to be working on the game with all their love and joy.
- Workshop Support: It's truly amazing that a game launches in Early Access and offers Workshop support. Share your skins and buildings with the whole world and use the works of other players. It couldn't be easier to publish your art.
- Mac / Linux Support: Both available, which is awesome. I played it on OS X and didn't encounter any abnormalities compared to the Windows version. Even updates are pushed at the same time, I'm very happy about the support!
Neutral
- Gameplay: As hinted on in my review, there's not a goal to follow and we will have to wait for the Story Mode. However, this will not keep you from spending hours and hours in the creative modes.
- Bugs / Crashes: I would list the bugs in the negative section of my review if it wasn't an Early Access title. It's not surprising that the game crashes sometimes or you will notice weird bugs and glitches. The developer is working hard on fixing all bugs and pushing new updates which is laudable.
- Steam features: Workshop support is great but achievements and trading cards would be pretty sweet as well. I understand that since there's no story, there's not much to achieve, but I'd definitely like to see achievements when the game launches.
Negative
- Combat: The fighting system is boring and not rewarding. Enemies are weak and not smart at all. In addition to that, there's not many different types of mobs.
- Soundtrack: It's okay, for the first hours. It won't vary much though and if you intend on playing for many hours, it gets incredibly annoying despite its relaxing sounds. I really had to turn off the music in the game after some 12 hours which is a bit sad but easy to fix (more different tracks, please!).
- Price: The current price of 15.99€ is too high, especially since it's that early in development. There's many other sandbox games that are free or cheaper if you want to mess around and build things. Maybe it will be very worth the money in half a year, but not right now.
