Also crafting is the biggest joke. You are better off selling unrefined ressources. You mostly lose money on craftig. And it is totally tedious. You craft the same crap over and over again and there are no special recipes as rare drops like in other MMOs. No one asks for a crafter in chat since the stuff you can craft is very limited and you find everything on the marketplace. All the items in this game are disposable commodities - thanks to full loot PVP which forces people to constantly buy gear again and again. All the items are known, nothing special, no mythical drops that have a drop chance of 0.01% in a hardcore raid dungeon.
I played this games for 10+ hours a day for like 5 months. You do the same stuff over and over again. If you aren't a hardcore PVP player or in a guild and play MMOs for crafting, gathering, trading and some group dungeons, then just forget it. It is just not rewarding. You sooner or later are locked into safe zones unless you constantly want to risk to die and lose everything in the red and black zones for some few ressources you can gather there which takes tons of times. The ressource nodes will have less and less ressources and it takes longer and longer to harvest them the higher you go. Then on top you have a cascading refining system. So if you want to craft tier 6 items you need tier 6 refined ressources. But to refine tier 6 raw ressources you need tier 5, tier 4, tier 3 and tier 2 ressources - and lots of it. So you constantly have to harvest low tier ressources to craft high tier stuff. And to refine high tier ressources you need tons of those because the higher the tier, the more ressources you need. So if you want to craft a bow that needs 32 refined ressources you can gather for hours to be honest and if you want to craft high level stuff you have to risk a lot since you NEED to go to the red and black full loot zones where 10-20 guild gankers already wait for you at the zone entrance and chase you through the whole zone!
And if you don't have a guild you need to craft in the city where monopolies of the big guilds control the market. The prices are exorbitant high or you have to travel like 15 minutes one-way to another city where it is cheaper. In the end you make even less profit or none at all and lose lots of money when crafting. And concerning traveling. That is what you have to do constantly. Quick flying from one zone to the next? Forget it. You have to ride there with your mount. If you want to travel to a certain zone this often can mean 30 minutes of travel time one way - and if you are unlucky you are ganked on your way back and all your ressources or loot is lost and you have to start again. Everything in this game is designed to WASTE time!
This game is targeted for players that want to PVP in big guilds. For everyone else, solo players, players with a job that only can play 1-2 hours a day, crafters, gatherers, traders... this game is not recommend - although this game is marketed as sandbox MMO where you can do and be anything (big lie, all the updates are targeted towards guilds and open world PVP). You just waste time! And without premium status this game becomes a pain. You fame up so slow, you get less ressources from gathering, less loot, less of everything. Basically unplayable without premium status. Thing is: During just a few months of playing the ingame price to buy premium went up from around 8 MILLION silver to over 10 million silver. And it keeps rising. If you don't play hours each day and grind and grind then earning over 10m silver is not possible. You basically have to pay real money to get premium then. And soon I bet premium will be 20m. It has become ridiculous. Playing without premium feels like driving a car on the highway with the handbrake on.
Don't play this game if you you are the typical MMO player. Grinding for the best gear? Forget it. Full loot destroys this concept. You often run around in cheap low gear, just to avoid to buy the expensive stuff again (and on top you have to repair your gear constantly and the higher and better it is the more it costs, it goes up to millions easily with high tier gear). This game has no quests, no special dungeons with unique drops and you hardly find players to do normal group content - and with the last update this was destroyed anyway since killing simple and common open world mobs gives you more fame than doing a dungeon and killing mobs there. Uninstalled this game finally. It has become a chore. Unfun and repetive and due to the full loot system 80% of the game was locked to me. I was just sick of losing my stuff to some kids backed up by a huge guild when I gathered in high tier zones so I stopped going there altogether. And then this game is limited to just a few zones and you basically can't do very much but daily checking your farm animals on your personal island and gather for hours and hours to craft some disposable crap items that sell so cheaply on the marketplace that it hurts.

Du entscheidest, was du machst, was du werden möchtest, ob Soldat,

viele rassistisch sexsistisch sehr beleidigend

! PAY TO PROGRESS !
LONG STORY SHORT:
!! No Pay 2 Win but Pay to Progress !!

- This game is fun and somewhat grindy. I ran with a really cool guild right at the beginning and they helped me boost my fame/ silver tremendously. One thing I would not do is what I did. Most guilds you run into at the beginning will just us you for silver. Making their tax rates outrageous and taking all your money. Grind the game out and check the tax rates and activity of the guild before you join. Try to get as much money as possible to buy an island and then farm, farm, farm. Get money from that than go after tier 5/6/7 dungeons and make some money pretty easy. Use any build you'd like since there isn't really a meta in this game, Have fun.

This is just my experience, so take it with a grain of salt. I played this game a few years ago when it first went live, and wow, what happened? What an incredibly toxic and depressing atmosphere this game gives off now.

The fact that you lose gear on death was known to me when I started the game but it is so hard for new players when 1 guy can solo the entire group of players just because of his gear. For some, this is a pro, for me, it was also a pro until it became a con.

???? the downside of this game:
1. Poor Network Connection (ping 240ms-410ms), one who enjoy doing PvP would want to consider this
2. Social and Communication, its hard to communicate with other player, due to global and also a lot of toxic player
3. when doing Faction Warfare, its hard to see the enemy (NPC) when the place is too crowded

But if you go in blind just playing the game, you will miss soo many money making opportunitys, gear routes, and you will get scammed, murdered, and slowly have all your money leeched away from you thanks to the game not teaching you fucking anything.
Here's a tip, don't join any guilds when you're new. There will be lonely loser fucks who sit in a town all day long, sending noobs invites to their clan, why are they losers? you might ask, here's the pretty simple answer, they invite you in, you join, now everything you do gets a massive tax on it, going straight to the person who sent you the invite. Wow game, thanks for teaching me that! Why would i learn about these kinds of things when you could teach me alllll about how clicking on stuff makes me interact with it, wooooow.
And why would the game ever teach you about how if you die the durability of your gear goes down, when it can teach me to go light a bonfire. Yea if you go down its not like you loss money, no your gear gets fucking destroyed, but the game doesn't tell you about it until your gear is so damaged that you cant even use it anymore. Did you also know that your fucking mount gets damaged too? Wow. So not only do you get a MASSIVE hole in your pocket when you die thanks to the repair cost, but its not like you can go and farm dungeons or pvp to get any fucking money to repair that gear. So essentially you're soft locked now, you gotta go roam around with no fucking gear, no fucking mount, no weapon, no cape, no bag, no boots, trying to find treasure or random chests, and while you're at it, try not to die in 2 hits from ever mob in the game!
So once you're done getting spammed with scam invites, getting scammed in pvp requests, soft locked out of your own gear, you get to wander around the incredibly boring world of albion online for hours on end. Hey and while you're at it just go into a red zone, but try not to come across a 100 man zerg! i literally bet 99999999999999999 $ that you wont enter a single map without at least 40 no life nerds wandering around killing everyone, with a clan tag that starts with L or Z or an A or is just some really cringe anime reference.

THE GAMEPLAY:
-Early game
starts in trainee island with tutorial of gathering woods, stones, leather and fiber then crafts them into weapons, armors, and shoes. pretty fun and ez. and then you move out into small town with a lot of players. then you start again with gathering woods, stones, leather and fiber then crafts them into weapons, armors, and shoes then sell it on the marketplace.
-Mid game
now you have decent amount of money from gathering woods, stones, leather and fiber then crafts them into weapons, armors, and shoes also robbing silvers and items from nearby green and orange dungeon and sold them on the marketplace. then you bought premium for 30 days for 8 Millions silvers (no need to spend real money by buying golds to purchase premium contents) now you have ability to purchase your personal island to develop. build farm and pasture, plants some seed feed some ox and horse then sells the crops and ox and horse and earns more silver and buy higher weapons and stuffs and join beginner guild.
-End game
KILL!!! LOOT!!! KILL!!! LOOT!!! KILL!!! LOOT!!! then sell the loots on marketplace, get rich and buy 1 year premium, buy 16 island, buy market tenant and set 999% usage fee.
PROS:
-you dont have to create multiple characters to try every class, you can be ice wizard, frost wizard, swordsman, spearman, etc at the same time.
-when you get bored to conquer the dungeon, gathering feels relaxing.
-you don't have to spend your money to get premium content.
-the English chat section full of interesting conversation.
CONS:
-LAG
-LAG
-LAG
-LAGBION ONLINE
-played 225.3 hours in lag situation pretty much givin me level 10 headache and constant rage.
-so many reconnecting ring scene while fightin in dungeon and pvp.

a bunch of beggars asking for silver,
a bunch of players that refuse to believe that effort gets you silver,
a bunch of atheists informing the entire server that they're atheists,
an angry christian because an atheist said God is dead or something,
find out you can kill yourself in game,
two people who decided to have a full on debate in the chat,
a lost player who doesn't speak English that forgot to switch his language,
realize that a dungeon if you're not in a party is just a marathon on who can get the loot first,
The one dude who got ganked by the entire continent and is now unleashing his anger in the chat,
stare at the wiki for a good 10 years to spend another 10 looking for a tree, to then realize you could've just bought it for cheap on the market,
That one lost player who forgot he had a map,
Ride your mount aimlessly thinking about your purpose in the game,
have an existential crisis in real life,
and
taxes.
All that in just about 2-3 hours of gameplay, very immersive 11/10,

+ Own house
+ Can play on mobile
+ Try it for free its not bad game
- It can be P2W
- Not great PvP balance in open world.
- Big grind to max out weapons / crafting / armors.
- Bit laggy (make sure you install it on SSD!)
- A lot of gankers in the game that will hunt you down, you need to join aliance
- You cant move more freely, you are forced to go into more dangerous zones.

Completely F2P there is premium but you can actually farm for it and purchase it with ingame currency which is pretty nice
Armor and weapons can be swapped out all the time meaning you can be an archer with leather armor or a mage with heavy armor maybe a warrior with cloth armor
Different weapons and armors have different abilities which makes it pretty fun to play around with and create builds
The game has a pretty nice crafting system every single item is crafted which leads to a nice crafter playstyle
Cons:
Usually id say the PVP is pretty nice if it wasnt for the fact that theres only 1 server in america and the game lags really hard if you are in europe asia or god forbid australia
I talked about how crafting is pretty cool not let me tell you why it isnt the game has a very bad problem of having lots of bots in the starting zones that farm the ore the trees and even the animals so good look getting materials as a new player to start crafting
The moment i left tutorial island i was instantly spammed by dozens of guild invites from potato farming guilds basically if a new player accepts it they will be taxed with every silver they make which is really annoying to deal with i recommend turning on the auto decline on invites to guilds and duels as you wont be doing much of that in the early game
The late game doesnt really exist theres not much to do besides PVP with other players and as i said if you are a solo player then you shouldnt really bother as with such high ping landing and dodging spells is really frustrating unless you are zerg vs zerg in which case it doesnt really matter
Conclusion:
try the game out why not you might like it you might not but if you are looking for some PVE or some sort of End game then this game just wont be for you if you want to be a crafter u could probably do that after leaving the beginner zones and go to the pvp zones where bots dont exist and risk loosing everything to 5 gankers or actually get some nice materials and make a profit
its a full loot type of MMO which i never really enjoyed as after a while getting good gear doesnt really matter as you will be loosing it at one point or another making the whole process of getting that great high tier gear and being excited about it practically non existent unless you want to use it on low level enemies in the yellow zone where you cant loose your loot
also the community isnt all that great either as far as i can see its pretty toxic and high level players think 3v1 takes alot of skill and bullying new players is sort of a hobby for them due to the fact that theres only 1 server theres 3 major guilds that just bully every other guild so if you think about starting a guild dont expect to actually get anywhere
Overall a very meh experience

Now you are likely wondering how Leveling, Resource Gathering, Trading, and Etc goes. In Albion there is no official Levels, your health and damage highly depends on your gear, so the higher tier and quality you get, the more powerful you become. Now Trading mostly relies on an actually Player Based Economy, you can sell items and resources to the NPC, however you will get less than Sell Orders. Now Sell Orders is where you will get most of your Silver, aka money, they sell significantly higher and completely rely on another player on buying the product, its a win or lose situation, but eventually all of your items will get sold in the market! Location also heavily affects how much an product is due to local resources. Say for example the South is mostly a forest area, full of wood, in the city at the south you can buy wood cheap, however selling wood in that city will also sell cheap, meaning not much money in your pocket. Now take the North, not very many good trees due to its mountainous and snowy terrain, but is FULL of metal. The city there buys and sells metal cheap. Now bring Metal to the South, and Wood to the North, the sell price increases heavily! Meaning more money! Perfect for setting up trade routes!
Finally Resource Gathering, there is a skill tree for all Equipment, meaning the more you use it, the more you learn, you have to use an Axe to learn how to use its more higher tiers, and you have to mine more of a specific resource, example Cotton, to learn how to craft the higher tier equipment, as well as Refining resources to learn how to Refine higher tier Resources. Will this be a grind? YES, if you are completely new then it will take a while for you to learn everything, but as you learn how the game works, you can create more characters and speed run the leveling process. You can also purchase Premium to get more Resources and Skill EXP, you can either A, pay REAL CASH for Gold and buy Premium, or B, completely go Free to Play, and earn enough Silver to buy it. That's right! You heard me say it! You can buy Premium by literally Earning Silver in game and Purchase it yourself!
So is Albion a good game? In my opinion, YES! It literally gives you much freedom as you want! So what are you waiting for? Don't miss out on one of the best online games I've ever played and create your own story, do what you want to do!

- Levels matter, but end game is not gate-kept by the need to be Max Level, levels overall make the equipment you wear more powerful. But the equipment itself is already powerful. This brings great benefit and reward to long term players that invest in their character. They will have a not-so-not-significant edge when fighting. Levels very much help, but strategy and skill trumps it.
- You are what you wear. You do not need to reroll a char every time you want to try something fresh, your single one character can become max level at everything. The skills are on the equipment, meaning you can swap out all sorts of things for different loadouts. Imagine an Assassin, wearing a plate helmet, cloth chest, and leather boots. This is what you can expect to find in Albion, where you're tweaking your character around the skills the gear offers.
- Combat is modern MOBA style. This is great. I love games like Dota but hated the toxic community. Albion let's me invest time into raising my own MOBA hero, and then offers TONS of different ways to engage in PVP combat. One of my personal favs, for the most part, PVP is drop all loot on kill. This makes it incredibly rewarding, and risky, and gives you a rush you can't find anywhere else.
- There's no quests. This doesn't bode well for some people that require direction. But if you're a self goal setting oriented player, you'll find the most amount of player agency you can find currently in an online RPG. This also means that you're not screwed out of content because you didn't complete a quest.
The only bad thing about this game is that it's a single server. It's powerful, it runs great for me. But I live very nearby to it. Players in Europe and Australia will suffer high pings that cripple active action sequences for them. Hopefully SBI finds some kind of solution for this in the future.
I recommend you definitely give it a shot, and try to play a bit longer than the first time you get lost. There's a lot to uncover here, and if you neglect to invest a bit of time, you'll find that you passed up one of the greatest competitive MMORPGs.

The game is complex, with a steep learning curve. But don't let that fool you, there is a lot of open-minded people and guilds out there to help you out. Don't be scared to ask for help or advice, and try to look around for a guild with a teaching mentality. Do not look to the top 50 guilds, as they are focused on being competitive and have no interest in teaching new players.
I have seen these reviews crying about there not being any content. Well, if that is your perception, you have clearly not done 2v2 hellgates, 5v5 hellgates, 5v5 arenas, 5v5 crystal leagues, 20v20 crystal leagues, solo dungeons, corrupted dungeons, group dungeons, avalonian dungeons, static dungeons, hardcore expeditions, open-world roaming/PVPing... Yeah you get my point, there is a lot of content.
I also strongly feel the need to address the negative reviews claiming that this game is only a grind for 2000 hours, and then you can start PVPing. Well... You are not required to grind more than 15 minutes to wear tier 4 and go out and PVP. But to be successful in PVP without breaking your bank, you should probably grind a few more hours. But no, this game is not all grind. :)
And yes, this is a full-loot game. But there is zones where it is NOT full-loot, which means you can do your own thing, in your own pace, without being stressed out about being ganked and losing your inventory. And yes, while you lose your inventory in red/black zones, it does not mean you lose ALL your progress... Only the set your wearing and your items in your bag. Store your expensive gear in a bank and don't bring it out unless you can't afford losing it.
And no, there is no set story by the game. You create your own story, your own path. Will you be a famous guildmaster, a famous crafter, a HCE god or will you climb to the top in the 5v5 crystal leagues? Go find out :D
And to all the solo players out there... Yes , you can be a solo player, but it is waaaay harder than being in a group. Find a guild, play with a community and do group content. Nothing beats a group dungeon with 5 half-whitted people in a discord channel :D
To summarize this review: This game is very fun and addicting, but being a solo player might not be the best path to go or the most enjoyable one. Try finding a guild and community to play with before giving this game a negative review simply because you do not enjoy solo content. Yes, I do recommend this game, and I certainly hope I will see you on the battlefield ;)

- Needs a proper ranking system for hellgates! Game highly favors long term users in hellgates. 900IP vs 1300IP?
- I guess developer team doesn't have any content creator. 1 coder, 29 marketing guys. Rather than creating nonsense, insignificant and repetitive territories, create some content! Copy paste materials everywhere.
- Same 3 different dungeons, with 3 different layouts. Really?
- Same corrupted dungeons, same mobs, same cheesy mechanics. You will spend months and months, while killing the same mobs, again and again. CREATE SOME CONTENT.
- Cosmetics?! 10-15 different cosmetics (skins)? It has been 3 god damn years since you've launched this game... Create some avatars!
- Are you really serious about the avatar rings? Are you really gifting the same avatar ring every year?
- In game cosmetic store, just 2 purchasable skins? Hire a concept designer and content creator!!
- Game needs regular updates. It can be clearly seen that devs are not playing their game. Half of the armors and weapons are unplayed! Death and unused content everywhere. Overpowered and underpowered items everywhere. You always have to follow the meta, no time for your favourite weapon or playstyle!
- Nonsense menu for the skill tree. MAKE THIS PAGE SMALLER! Scroll out, scroll out, scroll left, scroll left, scroll left. Scroll right, scroll right? What is the size of this menu? Did you steal the skill tree page from Path of Exile and couldn't fill it up?
- I am not going to talk against ping because everybody's already fed up with it.
- Dead gathering system.
- 5v5 Arena is completely waste content. Add some content for the arena! Add a leaderboard, add some champion cosmetics for leaders, add some prizes! Arena is nothing more than a weapon/build testing place. Get some inspiration from LoL and DoTA! HIGHER A GOT DAMN LEVEL DESIGNER!
There are lot more to say. This game has a great potential but still achived %1 yet. Better to check this game once a year, if they achived it. I am deleting it now, untill then I will not turn back.

Also the game server is located in the USA, so be warned, you may not enjoy high ping, lagg and rubber banding which given that Albion online is full loot pvp game may ruin it for you.
Well, since all of the above are out of the way, we can discuss this awesome game. Yes, its grindy as hell, one can grind till the end of time and then some more. Even one of my friends, who really enjoys grinding, could not withstand the grind, but to be fair, its one of the charming aspects of this game. No matters whats happened to you, you can always return to safe zones and grind for some resources, clear some dungeons and make some quick back to fund your pvp exploits. As a player driven economy always will need resources, even low level tier.
High risk, high revard.
One may play safe in blue & yellow zones, but how long before you will look for better hunting grounds? Full loot pvp sounds scarier then it is. As every veteran player will tell you, don't go in red/black zones with gear which you can't afford to lose. As game have been designed, you can craft or buy lower tier( T4/1 T4/2) and still make some runs in to the abyss. There has to be a good balance of skill/gear and knowing when to/not to fight. And its also possible to run away.
I myself are more of pve player and not that good of pvp, even so I managed to farm, do solo dungeons. Even so, stand one against 2 and survive, or help another when he get ganked. Its all about earning more then loosing. One successful dungeon run in black zone may be enough to cover 10 bad ones. One successful farming session in red may cover 10 failed ones.
Another thing is how skills work in albion. You are never stuck with one build. You can mix all sort of things together and see how they work. Its dont take long to get in t4, which I would say is entry lvl gear for pvp zones. So each weapon category has different skills, same with armor and one can quite fast find things what works for him. Even better, master a lot of them and you can switch around for whatever task you gonna do (farming/pve/pvp)
Overall its fun game, yes its grindy, but no matter what path you will choose, you will always feel growing and progressing. Yes there will be bad days, with sorrow and lost fortune, but that only will make good days feel better. It may feel like other job, more so if you have premium, but there is no another game like this(Yet)
My only complaint is that of server performance. Its no fun having 300ping while galloping through black zone while having a few mil loot on you. And I think they should warn people that servers are located in USA. For full loot pvp game having game servers only there gives huge advantage to natives …
A fool and his silver are easily parted

The game has no characters, no lore, no world building. The npcs in the cities serve no other purpose other than to buy and sell and craft goods. There is no one to talk to about learning how the world came to be or why anyone is there. There is no story for anyone looking for it. The world is lifeless, filled only with cattle running around to take up space. The game says to make your own story by spending several hundred hours of your real life for no real reward.
Maps are all square with little change in the environment. Because there is no story, there is no random buildings or natural formations. No reason for any of the enemies to exist other than to be killed. There is nothing interesting to stop and look at. Just keep going by and find more trees to chop.

For a guy who has time to play the game alone most of the time is hard. 1/6 most of the time me and my friends and the guild members do not play and grind at the same time. So as beginner who tries to grind at the tier 7 black zone gets punished for having lack of knowledge. You will have fun at this game alone if you have knowledge but you will have to surpass the tedious of long, crazy and weird of the games learning curve.
You can obviously do tons of research about the combinations of gears and gankers roaming around before going to the blackzone for the first time, but for me it will not be engaging so I guess at this part it is opinionated.
Note that the game has been released for almost half a decade now, expect a alot of players and guild members packing up at the blackzone hunting/ganking players with with an extremely high skill almost at the skill cap.

Some people get 'scammed' by guilds forcing them to donate expensive stuff every week and then get kicked, ALSO...... there's just 1 SERVER FOR THE ENTIRE WORLD located in U.S... in a PvP FOCUSED GAME.... Where MILISECONDS MATTER... lucky for the ones who lives in U.S i guess, and i know, i know.. there's people who the game runs without lag even outside of U.S but that's doesn't mean there's not people with lag problems out there, even more if you live in another country..... Sad my relation with the game will end like this, because i like it honestly but as i said not everyone have tons of friends or time to coordinate to cover you when you do your stuff and avoid get steal (Killed), some people just wanna enjoy the PvE content alone or with friends or gather their stuff in peace, i think if they create another continent just for doing full PvE content full blue zone and leave the black zone for those's people with big guilds/ people who want to do full ''PvP-Ambush'' stuff then great but right now as i said is a great RPG untill you end the tutorial and reach T4/T5 set and you need to start to get in ''killeable areas'' to continue progressing and then you realize how toxic start to be the people, the creativity of people to do bad things and how SCREWED you are if you are just a solo random person who want to pass a great time ingame. well it transforms to be a GREAT and FREEDOM/ SIMPLE RPG build class to: BULLY TOXIC TACTICS SIMULATOR 1 server lag edition GoTY. Sad it ends like that. Regards.

Before going F2P Albion had less than 20k players, which was all fine.
Now its over 120k and the map haven't changed a little bit (Not mentioning Road Of Avalon) which obviously means overpopulation. Now the game drasticly increases its population, maps are becoming overpopulated, PKers are everywhere (Which is part of Albions charm, but getting ANYWHERE on blacks without guild is either close to impossible thanks to bridge and map link campers).
Resources on starter maps are scarce, which is supposed to be fixed with expansion of main continent (Royal).
Oh, did I mention that tutorial is absolute shit and haven't been changed since its release on Steam? No? I'm mentioning it now. (2 years at least, but probably way longer than that).
Reputation system needs a rework, since non-PK players get absolutelly nothing, and PK-ers are supposed to be map restricted, but it take nothing to get back to neutral reputation...
TL;DR
Map haven't really been changed even tho the playbase is way way bigger than it used to be, and you have high chance of meeting a PKer 1-2 maps away from the portal, which makes 90% of black maps obsolete, since you wont get there by any means necessary.

PROS
- Small sized-game, just a few gigs
- Good looking graphics, really like the artstyle
- Simple yet fun combat system
- The tier system is pretty straight forward and easy to grasp
- Decent player population, the game is still growing and getting better with more and more updates
- Good business model, free-to-play friendly
- Lots of different weapons with different playstyles
- Plenty of unique and fun content. One example would be the new '' Corrupted Dungeons '' which are basically solo dungeons with good loot, where the more you progress the bigger of a chance you have to get invaded by other players, similar to dark souls
- Easy to catch up with veterans, there isn't that big of a difference between gear. The majority of people pvp in easy to get tier 4 - 5 gear
- Good optimization ( as long as the game is on an ssd )
- Game pushes you towards speaking with other players, which is great. Even if I didn't manage to find a guild yet, I made so many friends and I joined so many groups, just because it's more convenient than playing solo
- Grinding doesn't feel awful and it's actually pretty chill and fun
- Everything you do progresses your character ( if you use a shield you gain exp for the shield skill line, if you chop down a tree you gain exp for the lumber skill line )
CONS
- Toxic community ( expected from a pvp game )
- Game performs poorly on an hdd, put it on an ssd
- Doesn't seem to be a game for a solo player
- Fixed camera angle
- Only one server in USA, if you play from Europe or asia expect between 150-250 ms constantly, which makes builds with a lot of skill shots a pain in the ass to play with.
- Daily maintenance is annoying
- Despite me loving the idea of it, the arena mode gets boring fast due to the fact there is only one map
CONCLUSION: Albion is an amazing mmo with a lot of great things going for it. The bad things don't hurt your overall experience that much and the game keeps improving. I recommend this game to anyone who likes pvp, arpgs with a combat system similar to that of a moba and people who like grinding/crafting. I recommend this game even to people who don't like grinding and/or playing with more people, just because there is still a lot of things to do solo and the grind isn't that bad.
9/10 really like this game

There is no solo / duo play. The only way to get into the late game is joining a big guild with alot of map presence.
I hope the devs will add more pve content and make the game more enjoyable for new players.
Because of only one server, areas are overcrowded and every red / black zone is filled with divers and gankers. Dungeons are repetetive and boring. It took me 2-3 hours to see every dungeon with every secret. Gathering and fishing can be chill but is easily ruined when you are forced to enter the black or red zones to get to the good tiers. There is 0 code or respect in the Albion community. You can have tier 4 gathering gear worth 10k and 8 gay no life guild guys will portal camp / road camp, kill you and divide 10k gold on 8 people.
Only 1 server in murica makes sure you will read cancer american politics in the all chat. Dont waste your time on this pile of dogshit.

If games had mental disorders, Albion Online would have bipolar disorder. The game will make you LOVE it and HATE it at the same time. PvP is where the game makes me hate it but all other aspects of the game are great! Quite addicting and time consuming.
Most of the points are based on my experience as a solo/duo player
- Even as a free account player, you can do a lot in this game as the game doesn't have many restrictions.
- Premium is worth it but imo think of buying it once you need to farm tier 6 materials. Full loot PvP made me lose quite the amount of interest for the game.
- If you have active friends or you end up in a good guild with active members with whom you can go explore and have your arse saved, this game is perfect! I found it difficult to make friends or have friends active enough to explore the game with. Solo is doable ofc but be ready to lose your gear from time to time till you find a strategy that works.
- If you get easily frustrated, this game is going to be one hell of a roller coaster as the chances of losing EVERYTHING you worked for are high.
- At times, I loved the full loot PvP aspect as it is quite rewarding when you do it right, but as said, you can lose everything in a glimpse to gankers.
- There is a lot to farm, gather, tame, craft. Can easily multitask and play the game in non-PvP zones.
- You can change profession anytime, you can equip gear of any profession at the same time and become a hybrid.
- The journey of going for high tier dungeons, getting your gear better and reking enemies in a few shots is rewarding and satisfying.
- The fact that waypoints are not present and banks and markets are local gives you a good feel of actually migrating from one city to another.
- If you find yourself unlucky in PvP zones but are bloodthirsty for player kills, arenas are the place to be (Although player kills here don't count in achievements).
- Red Zones: My experience with red zones has been quite bad. Guild members camping at the exits and you are mostly outnumbered. Do NOT go with your main gear as the chances of being outnumbered with players having higher tier gear is high.
- Black Zones: Found myself getting ganked by 4-7 players. Yeah that's right, 4-7 players for 1 or 2 people. Scouts present around every corner. Just gather and run is what I learned.
- The game gave me trust issues as a friend of mine tried to save a person and at the end the person ended up backstabbing him and looting everything. Help randoms at your own risk.
A big fuck you to that person
I love MMOs, especially Full Loot PvP MMos.
If you like WoW, League of Legends, Eve Online, RuneScape, Tibia, Ever Quest or any other games within the same genre you will most def like this game.. In fact you will love it!
At the start you won't think so though, you will play, get confused/bored and probably quit for a little while.
This happened to me the first like 3 times i tried to get into and understand it.
So if you for sure like any of the games i mentioned just remember you will like this game.
You just gotta fight the confusion and boredom until it finally clicks. Don't give up!
Best in it's genre.. 10/10
PS: I was half asleep typing this up and could have done better lol

- SINGLE SERVER, everyone plays on it, no concept of realms. One of my favorite things.
- Localized banks (Tibia)
- Localized economies (Tibia, a long time ago)
- Tiered crafting (RuneScape)
- Personal land/home (RuneScape)
- Optional teamwork for certain content (WoW)
- Mounts for fast travel (even better than WoW, accessible since beginning of the game)
- Fighting (Grim Dawn)
- Nice and modernized graphics/animations.
- Guild and zone systems that promote team-play (many world-events can only be done as a huge group)
- PvP is promoted (the less restricted the PvP zones you are in are, the better the skill and monetary rewards will be)
At the same time, it does NOT have the annoying things some of other games had:
- Items that feel as if they don't make a difference (WoW)
- Loss of skills upon death (Tibia)
- Loss of items upon death (Tibia, RuneScape)(Note: Unless you go to certain PvP zones)
- Grinding skills to actually get somewhere in the game (Tibia, RuneScape)
Currently giving this game 5/5. Might change if the crafting/gathering does end up feeling like a grind once I get it higher up.

If you absolutely hate Eve Online with every fibre of your body, you will HATE this game.
Controls and format are obviously very different, but the overall concept is the same; safe zones that offer some profits; PVP-only areas that are *rediculously* profitable, the economy is 100% player-driven, joining a guild is almost a must in this game, and there's a threadbare plot - and the players write the story. Oh, and you can buy and run your own islands where you and your friends/guildmates can visit, and alternate accounts are very useful.
If you've played Eve Online, the above will likely sound very familiar.
I love this game.

step 5 get killed by a group of 8 people that go around together
step 6 realize that this game requires 0 skill and has no skill gap
step 6 also realize that the player base abuses the fact that there is no skill gap and the only thing required is numbers making the whole player base a bunch of pussies that cant do a single thing without holding each others hands and that you will never achieve anything in this game unless you become like them

PROS
- Massive PvP battles that are really enjoyable. From open-world PvP, to large 100 people zerg vs zergs.
- Large playerbase, huge guilds, and plenty of things to do as a group
- Sandbox with no quests, but your quest is mainly to be the richest (i guess?), but really cool for me
- Free to play, lots of things to do even if you're not upgraded to premium
- Classless characters, meaning you can go any character, any build, anytime you want.
- Full loot PvP, as I previously mentioned, which makes the game alot more exciting and challenging
- Cross-platform support
- Microtransactions is pretty minimal to none, usually just spend $10 on 1 month of premium or even just earn ingame currency to get your first month of premium
- Conquering of cities, territories, castles, etc.
- Custom islands where you can have houses, farms, etc.
- HUD and UI is really great (for me)
- Most of the items ingame is player crafted
- Gives Diablo 2 and Runescape vibes, with a mix of some Dota 2
CONS
- NEEDS LOTS OF TIME INVESTMENT, it's really grindy to get higher tier items and rare stuff, took me a decent week to max out my gathering skill.
- Player-driven economy, inflation of items are inevitable, lots of players are shit and raises the tax to 999% in crafting stations, and most of the stations in major cities are owned by players and large guilds.
- NOT GOOD FOR SOLO PLAYERS, as a solo player myself, it's really fucking bad to play this game alone. With full loot PvP in the open world, you'll always go against 3 people or more.
- Guilds are controlling the game. In lots of places, guilds own most of the territory and would instantly kill anyone they meet that aren't their teammates.
- Only one server, which is NA. As a SEA player, and the vast majority of the players from EU, it brings lots of us in a disadvantage, especially in PvP
- Toxic af community lol
- Gameplay gets pretty repetitive unless you're in a big guild that normally starts wars and territory attacks/defense
- Really hard to start out as a newbie, unless you got a group of some sort
- Every fucking city is overcrowded, not good for people with low-end PCs even if it has Dota 2 graphics
TL;DR
Every single thing you do matters, large scale full-loot pvp, player driven economy with lots of unfair taxes and prices but mostly normal, you can be any class or equip any item at any time, yet it feels really nostalgic. Lots of frame and ping lag, especially if you're in SEA or EU or any other place other than NA. But a really good game so far, even as a sandbox, it feels like you always have something to do.

1. Clunky combat, Spells are very slow, bow is decent but main combat is for melee. With telegraphed fast attacks this system needs some type of dodge or roll.
2. Grind.. and I can't stress it enough... A lot of Grind.
2.1 To craft better tier of armor you first have to craft better tools (by making a lot of lower tier tools) next you have to learn how to gather new material by gathering lower tier material couple of times then gather a lot of the new tier material, learn how to refine the new material by making a lower tier material, then craft a lot of lower tier armors to to learn how to craft new tier armor and after crafting you also have to grindr some enemies in lower tier armor to equip the new armor. (That whole proces is from tier 3 and escalating up with tiers)
2.2 That small green portal that you can find in word is just source for players to piss off others. I cleared like a 70% of area. There is this player just pasing by me. Killing few mobs and just killing the boss and I just get absolutly nothing. This is soo stupid. After 4 time this happening to me I wanted to end my suffering.
2.3 Gathering materials i so slow and pointless that after few hours of going between 3 zones to get the missing materials for my only one armor tier 3 and weapons I just gave up and bought them from a market.
3. Pushing to make/join a guild.
4. Servers. Dear God the servers. Only one American sever was an absolute mistake. On top of (point 1) there is a lag and high ping with makes avoiding attacks very unreliable. PvP can be won by who is closest to the server.
5. Graphics. For me this isn't important, if other things were much better refined, but the game is just ugly and low effort.
6. This game isn't solo doable

Strangers can be very helpful by partying up with you for dungeon runs.
Very enjoyable crafting.
Mix & match gear for the type of game play YOU want.
The mounts are pretty cool.
Free to play.
Works on Linux out of the box (both on steam and the stand alone installer)
Cons: Must purchase premium to be able to get a really good experience.
Premium is for just 1 character out of the 3 you can create per account.
No shared storage between characters.
No matter how good your computer or how strong the connection, the server will randomly drop the connection (mostly during a very intense moment such as a huge group in a dungeon or another player is trying to kill you while youre just chopping down a tree.
I recommend this because its alot of fun to play for an indie game. Even though the servers choke up sometimes im sure they will sort it out soon enough. I dont think im going to bother with premium for another month as the juice really isnt worth the squeeze

The no classes, unlimited potential, crafting matters part drew me in, grinding and leveling your craft was fun till you hit tier IV.
after that all your agency to craft or do anything gets taken away.
Farming and cooking is gated behind a premium service, you cant even craft stuff higher than tier 3 without being someone else's bitch and paying them for using their crafting stations, If you want any agency to craft stuff by yourself, again your private island is gated behind pay to play.
There's an option to buy premium but the price is like 6k gold. For a new play to reach 6k gold it'll take probably 1-2 months of hard grinding just to get close to getting it, but that's a whole month or 2 to just have basic agency past the beginner stage of the game.

The Pvp system is unforgiving as hell, 70% of the map or area's is Pvp so good luck dying for everything you have worked so hard for.
Other features that are a negative are listed below.
1. Game is laggy as hell, constant lag spikes even if you have the best connection because the game runs off 1 server. So Americans, Russians, the whole of Europe all in 1 place. I'm assuming the dev's did that to make the player base look bigger than it is rather than separate servers.
2. The dungeons are boring and are the same type (3 or 4 types) over and over again. Even at blue its the same dungeon just harder.
3. The second Island. Ok the second main island is 2x bigger than the main one which around 90% of players stay in. It is all Black zone so full on Pvp lose all your shit nothing remained Great!! Problem is hardly anyone goes there because they don't want to lose they stuff which is understandable. If its taken you 3 weeks say as a average player to get all you need your not going to risk it going to an area or others knowing you could lose it all in 10mins, risk vs reward my arse.
And expect to think 'i know i want to do it all again Yay! because it was so fun! and completely none pointless! of course. Or i could play a different game die by Pvp and still keep my shit just spend alot to repair it which i dont mind. That sounds much better...
4.End game. Whats the end game?? what get Tier 8 gear wooow big deal thats a pretty simplistic target then do what, blue raids? but you know you don't need to do them if you already have T8 gear for your spec. gather? why you don't need to, to what purpose gain silver? spend on what? your wearing the highest gear nothing to spend it on that you need.
The end game, combined with limited dungeon variety and pointless gathering will have you bored after about a month i promise. Oh and don't worry you will die lose it all and think hmm did i just waste a month, do i want to spend another one not really can't be arsed.

It's well made looks good and run's on a potato based soup dont even know if you need the whole potato.
love the open world aspect and skill tree is awsome and skill gains based on what skill you use and how much you use it. It's a great concept and i wish more games would do this.
Thanks dev's for a great game (makes me think of Ultima Online and the good old days)
