Gameplay
The game consists out of two distinct phases: personal turns and shared turns. During shared turns, you and your fellow presidents must vote together on presented dilemmas, impacting the Republic's four main resources?food, military, raw materials, and currency?along with the population amount and their happiness. Balancing these factors is crucial to ensuring the Republic's survival. The personal turns present dilemmas exclusively to you, affecting your personal resources, your approval rating and your voting power during shared turns. This phase offers a strategic opportunity to scheme against, steal from, trade with, or spy on fellow presidents.The end goal is to secure re-election as the sole president. Your approval rating and reputation with each location are pivotal in determining your score during this new election. However, only looking out for yourself and your own approval might anger the other presidents.
Story
Each playthrough offers a unique narrative experience, thanks to the wealth of characters and locations. In addition to typical dilemmas, characters frequently unveil stories spanning multiple turns, often greatly rewarding presidents who are willing to lead them to a good end. One playthrough may find you warding off pirates, while another might see you pursuing a profound connection with a higher power.Besides the characters, sometimes due to your own actions or pure bad luck, crises might erupt. These can range from foreign invasions to natural disasters to military coups, demanding substantial resources and cooperation to resolve adequately.
